Basic in Feng Shui are the Five Elements, which are fire, earth, metal, water and wood.  Each of these has several different meanings and is associated with different compass directions.

South: Red

West: White, Gold, and Silver

North: Black, Grey, Dark blue, and Dark green

East: Green

Central: Beige, Brown, and Yellow (Earth Tone)

Feng Shui Masters use a special compass, called the Lo Pan, to accurately determine the direction our homes face.
